Death Penalty JJK Shirt
This shirt features "Judgeman" a character from the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga vomiting out a mountain of sunflowers. The words "Death" and "Penalty" are placed to the left and right sides of Judgeman's face respectively.
My idea for this shirt was to capture the internal battle the character Hiromi Higuruma had with his feelings towards the legal system in Japan during the story. Sunflower pins are worn by lawyers in Japan and symbolize fairness and justice. One of Higuruma's clients was charged guilty of murder even though there was a mountain of evidence that pointed to him being innocent. This results in Higuruma spiraling down into mental instability as his belief in the system was shattered completely which led to him killing both the prosecutor and judge overseeing this trial and becoming of the highest ranking sorcerers in the Culling Games which essentially means he went on to kill ALOT more people.
Judgeman vomiting out sunflowers symbolizes Higuruma's rejection of the legal system and the words "Death Penalty" are a callback to the sentence that his client received.
I drew this entire design myself on pencil and paper before importing into an editing software where I added the colors and borders and all the other fun things that make up an entire evening of hard work. Yes it took a bit but the end result is always worth it!
